Stephen Coony is a fellow Subud member of our who has been living in Innsbruck, since the world congress, will be undergoing an operation on his back on the 21st of February. Many of us know Stephen from the previous world congress in Innsbruck , and the condition of his physical health.
Stephen had broken his back in his early teens, and then underwent surgery; inserting metal plates along his spine to hold it together. After a few years he was in another accident, injuring his spine once again and damaging the metal plates in his back.
Last world congress Stephen was suffering from severe back pains, and was taken to the hospital. Doctors confirmed that Stephen must undergo another surgery in order to prevent anymore damage from happening to him. And the thought of living with daily pain like that is something none of us would want
Under certain circumstances Stephen could not afford more surgery, however, a group of Subud youth came together with out stephens knowing in order to raise funds for another surgery for Stephen. On the last day of the congress, with the help of the Subud youth, they raised over 7,000 Euros for Stephen cause. Because of their effort and help Stephen is now able undergo surgery and fix this long lasting problem which has caused him so much pain.
We would like to give thanks to all those who helped for Stephens cause, and especially to all the youth who helped and gave their time and effort to this cause.
A special thanks goes out to Harel Weiss, Sean Weiss, Sharifin Dickie, for all of their efforts and their time that they gave to this, for showing what can be accomplished when we come together for the sake of love, friendship and help those who are in need. Truly like the musketeers, 'One for all, and all for one.
