40 degrees Celcius, blue sky, latihan, meeting old friends, Flamenco, loads of Tapas and Sangria.... what more could you ask for in this summer 2003!

About 100 Subud members came together in Granada, Spain between 7th and 13th of july for the annual zone 3 meeting.
Everyone was quite excited, since Granada is the place where World Congress 2005 may well be held! Subud members from all over Europe were able to experience and explore this lovely city, which is very spanish and yet so multicultural with the arabic neighbourhood, the morrocan restaurants and AlHambra.

READ ON.....
The zonal meeting took place in Palacio de Congressos, a giant congress centre quite central in Granada. First of all there were latihans, testing, both general and personal, and then of course discussions, plenary sessions and financial meetings. The World Congress 2005 working team also came together and Laurencio Young gave us all a taste of what we can expect in 2005, and it will be GREAT!

And of course the meeting sessions continued in little restaurants all over Granada, whereever subud members had lunch or dinner or just went out for a drink or an ice cream. There was even an official youth co-ordinators meeting in the swimming pool!

Often you could find groups of 20 or more subud members in the restaurants discussing the meaning of life and why we are in Subud etc All while enjoying delicious tapas and drinking Sangria before going to bars and enjoy the Flamenco dancing (which was amazing!).

Of course there there were also some Subud members who wanted to share their talents with us. Lydia (SICA rep. from NL) entertained us with little mimepieces, Hussein Dickie (from Austria) played wonderfully on his guitar, Paul Gawen (Int. Helper from UK) made us all laugh with his stories about his trips, and so were there many others! The Irish delegates even chose to SING their country report to spice up the meetings! (thanks for that, it was wonderful!)

The last evening we all went to AlHambra, which is the palace of the former Muslim sultan. It was so beautiful there, and very romantic(the theme of the entertainment programme was indeed romance), maybe someone even fell in love there under the stars while walking around in these Arabic surroundings that could have been taken out of 1001 Night!

Granada is truly a wonderful place. Let's hope we all can meet up there in 2005!
