Hi there, my name is Rhyana Blakeley and I am the new co-coordinater for SYA, he he. recently there has been a project to get all the wings to come together and fundrais for a project in Bangalore India. The is to install toilets into various villages in the area, thuse giving sanatation to many, and drastically cutting the spread of desease. The world council is meeting in Bangalore at the beginning of August and will present the money there. We are asking young people all over the world to get together and creat a fundrasinig drive using their creativity and their enterprise to raise this money even if it is a small amount it is about us all doing it together. My co chair Hamilton and his wife did a a back sale, where they cooked cakes and cookies and sold them, and raised over $300. I though we could all come here and put what we are doing and shair the ups and lows of doing this and get to knew each other better and support each other more.

Ok my deal, I thought I would get the ball rolling. I have been pretty absent the last few weeks as I was writting my dissertation, finnishing my university course and moving house. I am now sleeping on my mother couch and plaining what to do with the rest of my life, now that I have a degree. I moved in yesterday so it is all new.
I really feel that this fundraising is a grat idea, not only is th emoney going into something that will make long term chainges to a comunity, not just give them a meal or some cloths, it is also a great way for th esubud comunity to pull together. I am English, and live near London. I am awair that subud Britian has an important role to play in all of this. Not only are we a country that is economically strong, but we have a large and very structured subud comunity, and are used to organising fundraising avents. But th enational youth coordinaters here havea lot of work, as they are organising the events for our nationla congress. (this last a week, and it is the youth coordinaters role to oraganise a week long scedual of workshops, meetings, and entertainent to apeal to the youth, a big job)
I just finnished a theatre course and about 6weekes ago we had to to a practicle theatre dissertation were we created a essay questiona nd esplored it practically, most ended in a 20 minuet piece of theatre. I was very impressed with my class mates work, and wished more people could see, this rather strainge and interesting exsplorations of performance. I came up with theidea of creating a theatre festival to raise money for Bangalore.
I asked if there would a be a day where we could usethe Amadues centre (a subud owned house in central london, that is rented out for partys and wedings and is a very nice space). I heard and gave up. Then about a week ago I was given the 14th of July. I spock with my class mates and most of them will have left by that time, I was about to give up when there came a surge of interest. We now have a lot of acts interested, and even a stage manager who can deal with set chainges, props, and many other things. We have someone to design the poster etc. Great. I was then told that ther ewould be building work in the Amadues that day, an dthey might not be a floor in the main hall (where we were plaining to perform most of the pieces,) and posibly builders banging away whilst we perform. It is a risk do I praye that the floor will be there and it will all work out, or do I cancell it, and rest and sort out my own life.

I am still torn, but will have to decided by tonight. Wish me luck, and please please tell me what is going on with you guys. This is a big thing, but I had the facilities to do that. $30 will be brillient, and the important thing is that we do it together. I could do with knewing others are going crazy to out there (joking) but is would be great to hear of other fundraising schemes for this so I do not feel alone. xxxxx Rhy
